Definition
For a given product, average sales are the average volume sales calculated over the selling pharmacies.
Calculation
Average sales = Volume sales / number of selling pharmacies
Interpretation of monthly average sales based on a distribution of less than 5% should be taken with caution.
Point of attention
Unlike monthly average sales, which are averaged to an average month, average sales are not averaged by month. So if I calculate a 12-month average sale, I'm actually viewing an annual average sale
Terminology
The average sales (AS) indicator can be translated into English as average sales (AS).
