## Definition

For a given product, the number of dispensations presented for reimbursement is the number of times the product has been dispensed in a pharmacy, with partial or total coverage, by the compulsory or complementary health insurance.

Concretely, this is the number of times the product line appeared on a pharmacy receipt, for a presentation for reimbursement of compulsory health insurance and / or of the complementary.

## Example

If a product is dispensed 200 times, including 160 times with a portion of reimbursement by compulsory or complementary health insurance strictly greater than 0% (i.e. a portion of the remainder to be paid for the patient strictly less than 100%), then the number of dispensations presented for reimbursement is 160, whatever the sales volumes.

## Tip

The number of dispensations differs from volume sales in the sense that the dispensations count the acts of delivery and not the number of boxes delivered.

## Terminology

The number of dispensations presented for reimbursement can be translated into English by Number of dispensations reimbursed.
