Definition

For a given product, the number of dispensations is the number of times the product has been dispensed in the pharmacy.

Concretely, this is the number of times the product line appeared on a pharmacy receipt.

Example

If a product is sold to 2 different customers on a given date, it has been dispensed twice, regardless of the sales volumes.

Tip

The number of dispensations differs from volume sales in the sense that the dispensations count acts of dispensation and not the number of boxes dispensed.

Terminology

The number of dispensations can be translated into English as Number of dispensations.
