Definition
For a given product, the average number of dispensations per social insured is the ratio between the number of times the product has been dispensed in pharmacies over the number of different social insureds having received the product.
Example
If a product is dispensed to 2 insured persons for a total of 7 dispensations concerning them, then the average number of dispensations per insured person is 3.5 (7/2).
Tip
The number of dispensations differs from volume sales in the sense that dispensations count the acts of issue and not the number of boxes delivered.
Terminology
The average number of dispensations per insured person can be translated into English as Average of dispensations per patient.
