Definition
Inventory share is calculated in the same way as market share, but taking inventory, not sales.
Calculation
Share of stock = [Number of stock units of the selection] / [Number of stock units of the market]
Tips
The stock share is read in absolute value but also in comparison to the market share. The indicator for comparing stock share and market share is called the commercial pressure index.
Example
A 50% stock share for a given company means that one in two boxes stored in the market belongs to the company in question.
