WBE (Wastewater Based Epidemiology) is a non-invasive diagnostic approach to monitor the distribution of infectious agents (SARS-CoV2, pollutants, opioids) in wastewater.

In the case of SARS-CoV 2, the virus concentration is detected by an RT qPCR test.

This method allows to follow thousands of people per water treatment basin, whether they are asymptomatic or not.

This allows to efficiently target the positioning of public health resources to control or mitigate transmission, and provide valuable decision support for public policies.
