Definition

Product mix innovation represents the total number of products (GTINs) active (sold at least 1 time) in the period, but not sold in the same period of the previous year

Example

For a market consisting of 2,000 products, of which 400 products have sales in your analysis period and no sales in the same period of the previous year, then these 400 products represent the innovation of the range in the outlets.

Terminology

The assortment innovation indicator can be translated into English as "Innovation assortment" or IPA.

Declinations

Product assortment innovation can also be studied in value or volume sales, to measure the impact of new products on sales.
