Definition
The innovation of the product assortment represents the total number of products (GTIN) active (sold at least once) over the period, but not sold over the same period of the 'previous year
Example
For a market consisting of 2000 products, of which 400 products have sales in your analysis period and no sales in the same period of the previous year, then these 400 products represents the innovation of the assortment in points of sale.
Terminology
The assortment innovation indicator can be translated into English as "Innovation assortment" or IPA.
Variations
The innovation of the product range can also be studied in sales value or volume, to measure the impact of new products on sales.
